2024 Labor Day Weekend Essay Kickstart
This is a compressed package for students who have not started their Common Application essay. The package includes two one-on-one meetings on zoom, guidance on assignments the student will complete between meetings, guidance on assignments the student will complete after the second meeting, and thorough review and feedback on each essay/activities section.
Options are available to add the Common Application Activities Section, UGA supplemental essay, Georgia Tech supplemental essay, or a supplemental essay for another school. All meetings are with Katy So, founder of College Ave Consulting.
The meetings will take place on Saturday , August 31 and Monday, September 2, at the same time each day. Times available are 9:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm. Because these are individual, one-on-one meetings, we can accommodate only one student per time slot.

Schedule
Saturday, August 31
90-Minute one-on-one meeting on zoom. During this meeting we will complete brainstorming activities and discuss the essay topic ideas. Students will be given assignments to complete before our next meeting.
Sunday, September 1
Students complete specific assignments to prepare for our next meeting. If the selected package includes work on the Activities section of the Common Application and/or any supplemental essays, the homework assignments will involve work on these aspects of the application in addition to the homework for the Common Application essay.
Monday, September 2
75 minute one-on-one meeting on zoom. During this meeting we will discuss the Common Application essay topics, decide which topic the student will write, create an outline for the essay, and make sure the student is prepared to write a full draft of their essay. We will also set a due date for the drafts to be submitted to Katy for review.
After the Weekend
Student will write a complete draft of their essay, and if applicable, will also write drafts of the Activities section, and/or supplemental essays. The student will submit these drafts to Katy by our agreed upon due date, and will receive feedback on each essay/Activities section within one week.

How does this package differ from the standard, ongoing services of College Ave Consulting?
Students who work with us through our standard, services receive ongoing support and guidance through meetings, email, and messaging. We also provide structure, timelines, and guidance through all aspects of the college application process, and we provide feedback on all drafts of each essay, until the student has reached their final draft. We also review all aspects of each application before it is submitted. Students also receive access to our online college list building & organizing tool, Custom College Plan.

Can we purchase additional hours to work with a College Ave Counselor on additional drafts or other aspects of the college admissions process?
Yes, we typically offer hourly packages with a minimum of 15 hours; however, for students who work with us during this Labor Day weekend package, we will offer hours in 5 hour blocks. Please contact us for more details.
