Katy So, founder of College Ave Consulting, is an independent educational consultant with a focus in undergraduate admissions.  Prior to launching College Ave Consulting, Katy was an Associate Director of Admissions and the Director of International Student Recruitment at Brandeis University. She has also held positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Princeton Review K-12 Services,

and as a teacher of Sociology and English in Dalian, China.


Katy served on the Executive Board of the International Association for College Admission Counseling and has been a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the New England Association for College Admission Counseling. She has presented at annual conferences for the New England Association for College Admission Counseling and the International Association for College Admission Counseling.


Katy holds a Master’s of Education in Higher Education from Harvard University

and a BA in Sociology and Psychology from Middlebury College.

PAULA COGAN MYERS, M.ED.

Paula Myers is an independent educational consultant specializing in undergraduate admissions and international education. Paula worked as Associate Director of Admissions, Director of International Student Services and Assistant Dean of Students at Bucknell University, and as a Higher Education Counselor at an international school in Hong Kong. She has also worked in admissions and university communications as a writer, and in residential education.


Paula is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC).

She holds a Master's of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Vermont and a BA in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo.

CAROLYN VILLANUEVA, M.ED.

Carolyn Villanueva is an experienced College Counseling Consultant, Educational Consultant, and English/Humanities Teacher. Carolyn was an Assistant Director of Admissions at Scripps College, Bucknell University, and Allegheny College.  As an educator, she has led and incorporated design thinking approaches in curriculum development, strategic planning, and college counseling systems. She has over 25 years of experience in independent and public education and is passionate about supporting the diverse educational goals and needs that emerge in students' learning journeys while de-stressing the college process for young people and their families.

 

Carolyn holds a Master's of Education from The Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Gettysburg College.
